20 Feb 2016- Katie and Dr. Kinsland went and toured different USACE structures. We even got to go IN to the hydro power plant! Here's a picture of some boats we saw going through the locks. I wonder what was for lunch? (see photo to the right)
2 December 2015- The semester is almost over. Two grad students joined the lab this semester- I am looking forward to working with them.

17 August 2015- Katie was appointed as Research Faculty for UL's Institute for Coastal and Water Research!
21 July 2015- Katie is back from a 2,970 mile road trip to Wooster, OH to visit streams (and friends).
17 May 2015- The summer is here! We have two undergrads and a graduate student starting in the lab/field!
12 May 2015- A group of professors from the School of Geosciences and Biology at ULL met at Cade Farm to talk about the facility. There are lot of potential projects for both grad and undergrads that can be undertaken here. Can you find Katie (she normally pays attention!)?
7 May 2015- Katie was appointed a 2015-2016 Louisiana Sea Grant Program's Discovery-Integration-Application Fellow. Learn more about this program here.
2 April 2015- Katie was accepted to the 2015 Workshop for Early Carer Geoscience Faculty supported by the NSF and the National Association of Geoscience Teachers. The workshop will be held 26-31 July 2015 at the College of William and Mary. Learn more about this workshop here.
Katie traveled to Tennessee Tech to drop off sensors and the OARDC in Wooster, Ohio to deploy sensors April 1-12. 2400 miles driven.
Katie is getting settled at ULL. Field and lab equipment are being ordered and delivered. New toys, exciting times! Looking forward to exploring the bayous.
Katie is presenting a talk at AGU on Thursday, December 18, 2014 about our work on temporary rivers at Ohio State. On Friday, December 19,2014 we will have a poster on the large wood dynamic in headwater ravines work.
Katie starts at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in January '15.
